1. App Overview
Marmot TV Remote is a TV remote-control and management app that helps you control Android TV devices and TV boxes from your phone.
No account registration is required for core use.
No login is required for core remote-control features.
Core services use anonymous device identifiers.
Most connection and preference data stays on your device.
2. Data We Process
2.1 Data stored locally on your device
The following data is stored locally on your device and is not uploaded to our server for normal use:
- Connected TV or device information, such as IP address, device name, and connection records.
- App preferences and settings.
- Local browsing or tool history created by supported in-app features.
2.2 Data exchanged with our server
To provide required online services, the app may communicate with our server for:
- Subscription status: verifying whether an anonymous app device is subscribed.
- Restore or account binding features: supporting email-based restore or device binding when you choose to use those features.
- Configuration: retrieving app configuration, version update information, and remote configuration files.
- Support and diagnostics: processing request logs needed to operate and secure the service.
These interactions are designed around anonymous app device identifiers where possible. If you choose to use email restore or binding features, your email address may be processed only for that selected feature.
3. Permissions
The app may request the following permissions to provide product features:
3.1 Network access
Used to discover and connect to TV devices on the same local network and to access required online services.
3.2 Local network or Wi-Fi state
Used to check whether your phone and TV are on the same network and to support device discovery.
3.3 Storage or media access
Used only when you choose to send local files, photos, or media to a TV device.
3.4 Microphone
Used only when you choose to use voice input features.
You can manage permissions at any time in your system settings.
4. Subscriptions and Purchases
If you purchase a subscription or lifetime membership through Apple App Store or Google Play, payment processing is handled by the corresponding platform. We receive purchase and subscription status information needed to activate and verify your membership.
We do not receive your full payment card details from Apple or Google.
5. Data Deletion
You can delete local app data by:
- Clearing local data in the app settings, if available.
- Deleting connection records inside the app, if available.
- Uninstalling the app from your device.
If you used optional email restore or binding features and want us to delete server-side data associated with your email or anonymous device identifier, please contact us using the email below.
6. Children
Marmot TV Remote is not directed to children. If you are under the age required by your region to use digital services independently, please use the app under the guidance of a parent or legal guardian.
